FAQs
What is the primary activity of the volunteers?
The booster club allows athletes families to raise funds to offset the cost of their program. Sports and concert venues use the volunteers for the operations of concession stands and portables. Working in a concession stand involves at times cooking, serving, operating registers, condiment restocking, alcohol sales and similar.
How does that help the SSA Booster Organization?
In return of the support a donation is made to the booster organization. A small portion of the initial payout(s) from the venue goes towards operating expenses. Operating expenses include IRS filing fees, Insurance Requirements, domain/emails fees and banking fees. The remaining payout will be divided by the number of volunteer hours the day of the event.
What do the volunteers get?
A fun time hanging out with other likeminded and involved parents! The funds are distributed to the organization of your choice to be applied to their account. Cash tips are included in that payout to the organization divided by the number of hours people working that night at the venue and are not part of the operating expense payment. If you change organizations prior to event payout it is your responsibility to communicate updates to the funds disbursements. Any funds remaining after 180 days shall be deposited into a scholarship fund and disbursed at the designation of the booster organization.
What about personal appearance and expectations?
As a representative of SSA Boosters, your appearance and personal hygiene reflect the organization’s reputation, integrity, and image. It is essential that all volunteers maintain a clean, professional, and positive appearance at all times. We represent SSA Boosters and most importantly our children.
- Volunteers are expected to be neatly groomed, maintain acceptable personal hygiene, and wear appropriate attire or uniform as required by the venue.
- Uniform guidelines provided by the venue must be followed without exception. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory at all times when working in or around food stands, kitchens, or any food preparation areas.
- Phone Use: Please refrain from using your phone while on duty. If you need to take an emergency call, step away from the stand to do so briefly
- Food & Breaks: Eating is not permitted in the stands. You will be given a scheduled break. If you have a medical condition that requires you to eat outside of your scheduled break, please communicate directly in advance.
- Professional Conduct: Avoid using profanity or inappropriate language while in the stands. Remember, we are always being observed, and it’s important to model respectful behavior.
What are the attendance requirements?

Leaving early is not permitted, as it impacts the team’s ability to function effectively. Please plan accordingly and commit to staying for the full duration of your shift. In addition, Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in removal from the Booster Club.
If you arrive more than 30 minutes late from the posted call time (as listed in the Sign-up app), a $10.00 deduction may apply to your payout depending on your communication of issues. Failure to show up for an assigned shift may result in a $50.00 no-show fee.
What are some concession stand expectations?
We all share the responsibility of opening and closing our stands to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently. Refusing to clean and count may lead in removal from the club. If your window has closed and your area is clean, please assist other team members with their closing and cleaning tasks as needed. Teamwork makes a difference! For the safety of everyone, only Leads and designated Kitchen Staff are permitted in the kitchen and warehouse areas.
Can I apply to be a part of the team of volunteers?
Absolutely besides the above terms and conditions, the only other requirement is that there is an organization that will except a payout on your behalf from SSA Boosters.
